HAMSHACK Hotline Group Bridge
To anyone interested:
Hamshack Hotline is a free VoIP service for Ham Radio operators. It is used by many Emergency Communication Groups, ARES, ARC, EOC's, etc as a means of coordination between operators so as to not tie up the radio for coordination. Here is a basic video describing what it is: https://youtu.be/dMr9a_6CuNE Myself as well as several other SATERN devotees use this system. There are 'conference rooms', called BRIDGES that can be used by unlimited people at once. (Think 'ZOOM' without Video!) In any case, as of tomorrow, Saturday, 3/27/2021, there will be a 'SATERN International' bridge available to anyone wishing to use it. This system is NOT an official product of the Salvation Army. Anyone, Anywhere can create a bridge. I have been doing extensive development on this system for some time now & find it to be an extremely useful tool in my EMCOMM toolbox! I am in the process of producing an extensive set of Presentation/Training Video's on what the system is, how it can be used, how to get connected, how to configure & set up, etc etc. For those of you ALREADY on HH, the SATERN Int'l bridge will be EXT 1431 and the passcode will be 14265 (the 20m regular frequency!). Once it goes live at 3:30AM tonight you can dial into it & try it out. I will be joining it in the AM during the 20M net to see if anyone joins just for fun... One of the best things about this system is for deployments. As long as you have Internet Access by any means, whether Satellite, fibre, AREDN, coax or cell, you can just plug your phone in, wherever you are and it auto-provisions & allows you immediate access to everyone on the system with very low bandwidth requirements and practically ZERO latency. I will be suggesting this to the TSA committee at our next meeting as something they might wish to explore. For under $30 as an investment for a used Cisco VoIP phone you can get connected... More to follow once the Video's are done... Have a Blessed Weekend! -- '73 (Best Wishes, for non-Hams) --... ...-- / -.. . / .-- .- ..... .-.. . . Can you suggest a model number and feature set that SATERN users would be interested in? Pete KD4QNA On Fri, Mar 26, 2021 at 11:06 PM WA5LEE - Lee - Net Manager via groups.io <leemanpa=me.com@groups.io> wrote: To anyone interested: |

Also, any information you could provide about re-engaging the old auto-patch feature on local repeaters to connect with HH would be helpful. Pete KD4QNA On Fri, Mar 26, 2021 at 11:06 PM WA5LEE - Lee - Net Manager via groups.io <leemanpa=me.com@groups.io> wrote: To anyone interested: |

Here is the supported list of end points: https://hamshackhotline.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/HH-Supported-Endpoints-1-7-19.pdf
I personally have two 525G2 units with sidecars that cost me less than $120. Here is a start on connecting to repeaters, I believe they have to be an Allstar node: https://apps.wizworks.net:9090/file.php?key=va497sri9rxqecuqqrw6ffwvu8ocjs_a&expires=1616889600&signature=50d4e8242eeec58c74958d5304401e83d81ec754&id=2104 Plenty of video documentation out there on these connections... -- '73 (Best Wishes, for non-Hams) --... ...-- / -.. . / .-- .- ..... .-.. . .
